Is the political landscape affecting our business?

The current uprooting of diversity, equity and inclusion programmes is not only wrong, but frightening. As an agency, we’ve decided to double down on our mission, rather than step back. Those who find themselves in the middle are afraid to be disruptive and we understand that it can be scary to take a stance.

This led us to wonder if our lull in new business is a natural consequence of running an agency or something more sinister. Is ‘we don’t have the budget’ a statement encoded to mean that ‘we’re fearful of investing in DEI work?’ It’s difficult to know if there are political motivations behind our slowing of new business, but it’s important to ask these questions. After all, our work doesn’t exist in a vacuum—it’s part of a wider sociopolitical context.
